Woodland Habitats & Whimsical Hideaways: Investigate, Gather, create

A unique family experience as we explore forest and farm life, discover new skills, connect with and create art in response to the natural world around us. This intergenerational program is based on the idea that we learn and grow best TOGETHER. 

*suggested age ranges 2-12

1 guardian/adult, plus 1 child $150.

Each additional family member $50. 

The forest floor is full of beauty & mystery. Under our feet, traces of life like fallen pinecones, acorns, and seed pods tell a story of the trees and wildlife that lives among them. In this three part workshop, we’ll take daily walks through the woods, honing our observation skills as we listen to animals and look for their habitats. Along the way we’ll gather tiny treasures, examine them closely, and then assemble our collections into whimsical woodland hideaways.

Inspired by forest creatures’ clever methods , you’ll build a small structure by stacking, weaving, twisting, and tying it all together. A wide range of construction techniques offer options for everyone from the littlest learners to those that enjoy more challenging engineering feats. Your imagination is your best tool! Take home a mini masterpiece and find a special place for it in your backyard, garden, or in a potted plant indoors. 

Following the workshop, you are invited to make your way down to the Farm yard for Farm Friday 12-6:30. Bring a picnic, play, grab a drink or popsicle, and pick up fresh produce at the farm stand.
