FOREST CRAFT COLLECTIVE is a unique family experience where we explore forest and farm life, discover new skills, connect with and create art in response to the natural world around us. This intergenerational program is based on the idea that we learn and grow best TOGETHER. 

*Designed specifically for school-age children with the whole family in mind (suggested age range 2-12 years old)

*Each session is 5 weeks. Meets Fridays 9 am to noon.

Curious about Forest Craft Collective? Come see what it is all about at this one-day family workshop!

In this 3-hour interactive program, we will head into the field to learn all about birds and how to cultivate sanctuary spaces where they can thrive. Families will engage in fun art projects and work together on nesting boxes and feeders to keep our winged friends safe and nourished whether they’re just passing through or staying a while. Together as a family, you will build knowledge, skills, and a couple of handcrafted items for your own outdoor spaces. Your backyard birds will thank you too!

Pop-up workshop: 1 guardian/adult, plus 1 child $50. Each additional family member $25.

Historically, handmade goods were often created out of necessity, and craftsmen relied on resources from the land around them. They used wood for furniture, clay for bowls, wool for clothes, and much more. Not only were these objects functional, they were also beautiful and held stories of their makers. For that reason, we still value and cherish hand-crafted works today, whether created by skilled artisans or little learners experimenting with new materials for the first time.

In this five-part interactive family workshop, you’ll look to the land, harvest materials from the farm, and use them to create your own handmade goods. Each week, we’ll focus on crafting with natural fibers, flowers, and more. Projects are fun and functional and will teach techniques that can be replicated at home.

No experience needed. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance during class and take home instructions for each craft as well. Enjoy time together as a family creating beautiful handmade items for saving or sharing during the holiday season! 

Following the workshop, you are invited to make your way down to the Farm yard for Farm Friday 12-6:30. Bring a picnic, play, grab a drink or popsicle, and pick up fresh produce at the farm stand.
